REMEMBER THEM! - A Poem for all our Fallen soldiers

This is a poem for all soldiers but written for the Aussie diggers that have fought for my freedom for over 200 years and australia day is coming up so please if you are an aussie anywhere in teh world spare these men amd women a minute of you day to remember them!

Remember Them
The road to get here was long and full of danger
With every step I was in the land of the stranger

Never did I shirk my duty or go along for the ride
I wore my uniform with purpose, love and pride

It was during this service soldiers died by my hand
An enemy who would seek, to usurp my homeland.

I travelled far for my country my people my flag
And not once have I ever thought reason to brag

To see what my forefathers achieved for my life
Was reason enough to train toil and ease strife

In countries which the language I do not know
I fight an often unseen and unyielding foe

It is with pride I travelled so far and wide
To ensure the flag would fly by my side

In many theatres of war I have discharged my gun
And the comrades I have made are my only fun

I travel now on two wheels of spokes and steel
But nothing will ever destroy the pride I feel

So on this most special of days don’t fret for me
Think of the soldiers that died to ensure you stay free!
